Transforming Lives Through Money Advice & Education 

Hi, my name is Montserrat Garcia, and I work for Money A+E as a Money Coach. Providing money advice to people in the community.

I was born in Spain and I come from a single family, my mum worked long hours to support me. Back in Spain I did not have many job opportunities unfortunately because of discrimination. I decided to leave Spain to find more opportunity in the UK.

I started studying and working in low-paid jobs and I also suffered from some illnesses.

​

I always wanted to help people and I volunteered on projects in the community supporting people facing challenges especially the Spanish speaking Community. I began working at the Citizens Advice Bureau, supporting people and providing advice.

I decided to join Money A+E a social enterprise which supports the community and those facing money challenges. They are a really good social enterprise because of the people who lead it. They have the passion and commitment so support people like me to develop in their skills. They provide a wide range of trainings and services such as the ‘Money Mentor Community’ programme which is great. Its aims to help isolated and disadvantage people overcome their financial barriers. I like working for Money A+E because of their work philosophy and the support they provide in the community.
